Sidebar Problem Fixed
Figured it out...had to make the font of my previous posts smaller in order for the sidebar to 'behave' itself and return to it's proper place! Go figure! You would think it would be 'anchored'...nah mean?Woohoo, all is right again!
Weekend Update
Went to the 7th annual NY Knit-Out & Crochet Event in Manhattan yesterday - my first time - and it was a lot of fun. It was a beautiful day, lots of people, and the 'Show 'n Share' was a blast. I actually ended up meeting up with some friends and modeling a poncho and bag for one of them. Judith, whom I met for the first time, made this FANTASTIC car coat!!! It was unbelievably well-made and all these people kept wanting to touch it and take pictures. It was a blast! The best part was that DH accompanied me! On the work front, I am absolutely swamped with projects (Open Enrollment, Budgets, Compensation Analysis, etc.) - all fun...NOT! What a way to earn a living...I would rather be crocheting!Speaking of which, I haven't done much for the past week. I did finish the beach sarong for my friend and I made a square to contribute to 'Warm Up America' which I plan on contributing more to! I think it is a great idea.Oh, there is a GREAT auction going on over at Crochetville!!! Can't wait to hear how it fared! So far, so good - lots of wonderful items (some handmade) to bid on and the bid amounts are definitely encouraging! Go have a look and participate!
Anyway, I now have to figure out how to get the items listed on my sidebar from the bottom of my blog page up to the top where it belongs...UGH!Until later!
Self Appraisal
Why must I write a self-appraisal for my boss? Every year we go through this tug of war and although admittedly, writing it helps me to really see just how much I've accomplished over the past 12 months, I really don't think it has much impact on my raise. As a matter of fact, I think this tedious exercise is for me to give my boss something to 'cheat' off of. I think she takes what she wants from it, cuts and pastes it in a new document and calls it my review. If I thought it made a bottom line impact I don't think I would mind it so much. Besides, it is so hard to not say that you 'Exceeded Expectations' on everything - let's be real here! LOL!!!
Ok, I bought Damian Marley's new CD (genre: reggae) today and I am so in LOVE!!!! First of all he is HOT (too young for me but nonetheless...), and most of the songs are really, really good!!!!! He sounds so much like his father Bob Marley it is scary! I really wish him lots of success!! Did I already mention he is HOT?????? Whew, somebody pass me a towel!!! An excerpt from his website reads..."Welcome to Jamrock" Highest Debuting Reggae Album in Chart History Damian "Jr Gong" Marley made history when his album "Welcome to Jamrock" entered the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart at #7, making it the biggest opening week for a Reggae artist in the history of the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart. Congratulatons, Damian...and if you've been missing out, check out "Welcome to Jamrock" already!
Onto other happenings, not much crocheting has been going on this week - I've really just been super busy at work and by the time I get home, I really want to not think - does that make sense? Just relax and veg.
Momachet was kind enough to design me some really nice buttons for my blog and I can't wait to show them off - maybe I'll unveil them this weekend. I can't thank her enough for her help, patience and genorisity...THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!
Alright, I'm done exhaling for the day and I'm going to head to the shower and hit the hay...until later!
Busy as a Bee
Ugh, I’ve been so busy lately I haven’t had the chance to post on a regular basis. I have to write my self-appraisal for work ( I HATE that) and it’s due on Monday and I have to admit that I haven’t even started to think about it much less write it!!! LOL! Isn’t that supposed to be my boss’s job? Let’s be real!On the crochet front, I’ve been working on a beach cover-up for a friend of mine, the blanket for my cousin is still in progress, I’ve ‘re-started’ the squares for the 63-square CAL over at the ‘ville. I started using RHSS and quickly found out that it would be too heavy/scratchy for me so I switched to Caron Simply Soft and so far I’m pleased. I completed 2 squares today for 2 comfortghans (1 for each) that will be made for a family in need of support. I signed up for class 5 of an 8 series certification course (CEBS) so I’m excited and scared at the same time at thought of being overwhelmed – what is a girl to do though? I’m all for education and being the best that I can be but there is always pain in gain!!!Other than that, all is quiet in my household - nothing dramatic or outstanding to talk about so…until later!
